Betrid Silver-Blood is a Nord woman living in the Treasury House in Markarth, married to Thonar Silver-Blood. She married him for his money and is not in the least embarrassed about it – in fact, it’s one of the first things she’ll tell you.

Quests
The Forsworn Conspiracy – if you confront Thonar about the attack on Margret, the household servants Nana Ildene and Donnel reveal themselves as Forsworn and kill Betrid no matter what you do. To keep her alive, skip that confrontation: follow the Weylin lead to Nepos the Nose and report back to Eltrys, or simply pickpocket Thonar’s journal.
Personality & relationships
Betrid sees the Silver-Bloods as the only family worth knowing, boasting that they own everything in the city down to the jail and the inn. She calls Thonar the real head of the family, then needles him in private for not wresting control from his brother Thongvor. Servants like Rhiada get a sharp tongue – and once, mid-scolding, Betrid lets slip that she used to be “in the temple” before hastily changing the subject. The alchemist Bothela grumbles that Betrid keeps buying potions to fuel Thonar’s ambitions.
Good to know
- If she dies before you confront Thonar, Hamal of the Temple of Dibella sends you a letter thanking you.
