Braig is a Breton Reachman locked up in Cidhna Mine beneath Markarth. He sides with the Forsworn rebels and Madanach, and he has a better reason than most.

Quests
No One Escapes Cidhna Mine – until Madanach tells you to hear Braig’s story, he brushes you off. Once you’re sent, he turns the questions on you first: when you first wore chains, whether anyone waits for you outside. Then he tells his own tale. He was arrested for having spoken to Madanach a single time. His daughter Aethra begged Jarl Hrolfdir to take her instead of her father – the Jarl’s men beheaded her in front of him and threw him in the mine anyway. She would be 23 now.
Personality & relationships
Braig is gruff and guarded at first, warning you not to reach for a shiv near him. Underneath is pure grief and anger. He insists he was never a Forsworn leader and only speaks for his own rage, but claims every family in the region has a story like his. Offer sympathy and he tells you to save it for his daughter; his only regret is not having killed more Nords before he was caught.
