Weylin is a Breton who digs silver ore in Cidhna Mine and rents a room in The Warrens, the grim lodging house for Markarth‘s poorest workers. On the surface he is just another tired miner. In reality he is a Forsworn agent, and he makes that very obvious the moment you first step through the city gate.
Where to find them
You’ll meet him in the market just inside the main gate on your first visit, usually for about five seconds. His room is in The Warrens.
Quests
Weylin sets off The Forsworn Conspiracy. As you enter Markarth he pulls a blade and attacks a Nord woman named Margret. You can either watch it happen or cut him down before the knife lands; save her and she rewards you with a silver emerald necklace she meant to give her sister. Either way Weylin ends up dead, and Eltrys slips you a note, pretending you dropped it, asking you to meet him at the Shrine of Talos.
Eltrys wants to know why a miner would murder a stranger in broad daylight. Garvey at The Warrens hands over the key to Weylin’s room, and inside you discover he was acting on orders from Thonar Silver-Blood, who wanted Margret dead because she was spying for the Imperial Legion. If she survived, Margret will admit as much when you find her at the Silver-Blood Inn.
Good to know
His last words are a Forsworn rallying cry. His pockets are nothing special: a steel dagger, a couple of lockpicks, a carrot, some Nord mead and a little gold, plus his miner’s clothes.
