Oblivion Remastered Is Out Now on Nintendo Switch 2

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered launched on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 11, 2026 – with both expansions, motion controls and a physical Deluxe Edition.

Cyrodiil has gone portable. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered launched on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 11, 2026, bringing the remastered version of the 2006 classic to Nintendo’s new console.

What’s in the box

According to Bethesda’s announcement, the Switch 2 release comes in a few versions:

  • Standard Edition (digital): the base game plus the two story expansions and eight DLC packs.
  • Deluxe Edition (physical or digital): everything above, plus exclusive Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon themed armor and weapon sets. The physical version comes on a cartridge.
  • Deluxe Upgrade: for players who already own the base game.

Motion controls

The Switch 2 version also adds motion controls of its own – Bethesda describes them as a way to put you “directly in the action”.

Why it matters for Skyrim fans

Oblivion is set in Cyrodiil about two centuries before Skyrim, during the Oblivion Crisis that ended the Septim line of emperors. If you’ve ever wondered about the history behind the Daedric Princes, the Dark Brotherhood’s old ways or Martin Septim’s sacrifice that Skyrim’s books keep mentioning, this is the place to see it first-hand.
