Brill is a Nord living in Whiterun. He stays at Jorrvaskr, home of the Companions, but he is not a member himself. He is there because of Vignar Gray-Mane, who took him in during a bad patch and helped him back on his feet.
Where to find them
Normally he is at Jorrvaskr, never far from Vignar. If you help the Stormcloaks take the city in the Battle for Whiterun, Brill becomes steward of Dragonsreach and can be found on the Great Porch.
Personality & relationships
A few years ago Brill turned to drink, and he credits Vignar with refusing to let him stay weak. He still jokes that sobriety is overrated, but once he becomes steward he admits he had to give up the bottle. He praises his predecessor Proventus for keeping meticulous records.
His conversations with Vignar are an old married couple’s routine: Brill teases him about getting skinnier, Vignar calls him a layabout manservant, and they plan mutton stew and games of Iron Hearts that Brill will lose and then claim he threw. He would trust any Companion with his life.
