Vignar Gray-Mane

Elderly Gray-Mane elder and Stormcloak supporter who can become Jarl of Whiterun.

Vignar Gray-Mane, also known as Vignar the Revered, is the elderly head figure of the Gray-Mane clan in Whiterun. He is a veteran of the Great War, an old member of the Companions and a proud Stormcloak supporter – which makes him the natural enemy of Olfrid Battle-Born.

Family

He is the brother of the master smith Eorlund Gray-Mane. The Gray-Manes and the Battle-Borns have been feuding for years, and the civil war has only made it worse.

Role in the civil war

If you join the Stormcloaks and win the Battle for Whiterun, Vignar replaces Balgruuf as Jarl of Whiterun. Hold changes made in Season Unending can put him on the throne as well.
