Fralia Gray-Mane is an elderly Nord who runs a jewelry stall in the market square of Whiterun. She is the wife of the master smith Eorlund Gray-Mane and the mother of Avulstein, Olfina and Thorald. Her trinkets are made by her husband, and she will remind you of that every chance she gets.
Where to find them
During the day she stands at her stall in the Whiterun market. Her family home is the Gray-Mane house in the city, which is where she asks you to meet her once her quest begins.
Quests
Missing in Action – Fralia refuses to believe her son Thorald is dead. She is convinced the Imperial-friendly Battle-Born clan know more than they let on, and asks you to come to her home to talk in private. With help from Avulstein you learn that Thorald was taken by the Thalmor and is being held for questioning at Northwatch Keep. Bring him home and Fralia rewards you with an enchanted two-handed weapon.
Services
Fralia is a merchant selling jewelry and other small valuables, all crafted, she claims, by the best blacksmith in Skyrim.
Personality & relationships
Fralia is fiercely proud of her family name. She describes Eorlund as the finest smith in the nine holds and sends you up to Jorrvaskr, the hall of The Companions, where he works the Skyforge. If Eorlund has died, she curses you for reminding her.
She cannot stand the Battle-Borns, whom she sees as rich, arrogant and honorless, and she clashes openly with Olfrid and Idolaf Battle-Born in the street. Her sympathies lean towards Nord tradition, and if the Stormcloaks take the city she admits she never cared much for Balgruuf, whom she considered too close to the Empire.
She is on friendly terms with Lillith Maiden-Loom, who once asks her for a silver locket big enough to hide a folded letter. Fralia promises to have Eorlund make it.
