Suvaris Atheron is a Dunmer who manages shipping in Windhelm on behalf of Torbjorn Shatter-Shield. Her pitch is simple: whatever you need shipped, she promises to beat the East Empire Company. She’s a Dark Elf working for a Nord clan in a city that treats Dark Elves badly, and she gets grief from both sides because of it.
Where to find them
During work hours she runs the Shatter-Shield Office on the Windhelm Docks. Off duty she’s at home in the Atheron Residence or having a drink at the New Gnisis Cornerclub.
Quests
In Rise in the East, Orthus Endario needs her logbook, so you’ll be stealing it from the office. Orthus calls her meticulous to a fault, and the book proves it: besides business notes she records every meal she eats and how she disciplines her workers. Hand it over and she may send hired thugs after you. During Blood on the Ice she is also one of the people the Butcher can kill in the marketplace.
Personality & relationships
Your first sight of her is usually a street confrontation in which Rolff Stone-Fist and Angrenor Once-Honored accuse her of being an Imperial spy. She shrugs it off as everyday Windhelm life, and if you’re not a Dunmer she’ll ask what you think of her people. Tolerance earns her friendship along with a warning that this is the wrong city for open-minded folk.
She’s no saint, though. Her logbook mentions withholding food from an Argonian docker for two days as punishment for laziness, and she reportedly uses Stands-In-Shallows‘ skooma supply to keep the dockworkers motivated. At the Cornerclub, Ambarys Rendar needles her for serving a Nord family; she answers that it’s a job, not a friendship. Her brothers are Aval Atheron and Faryl Atheron.
Good to know
If anyone kills her, her brother sends hired thugs after the culprit. Become her friend and she may leave you an inheritance. Her logbook asks the finder to return it to “him”, a hint that she might once have been planned as a man.
