Vipir the Fleet

Vipir the Fleet is a boastful Nord member of the Thieves Guild in Riften and its Master Pickpocket trainer, whose nickname was earned in a rather embarrassing way.
“If you wondering why they call me Vipir the Fleet, watch me outrun the town guard sometime.”

Vipir the Fleet is a Nord thief and a full member of the Thieves Guild in Riften. He has been with the Guild for as long as Mercer Frey has run it, and he likes to remind people that he may not be the biggest Nord around, but in a fight nobody can lay a finger on him.

Services

Vipir is a Master-level Pickpocket trainer who can take you all the way up to 90. He only teaches Guild members, so you’ll need to join first. He also points newcomers toward Tonilia, the Guild’s fence, with a warning not to cheat her.

Personality & relationships

Ask how he got his nickname and you’ll hear a story he’d rather you kept to yourself. He and Vex burgled a house in Windhelm, only for their client to tip off the guards. Vex vanished into the shadows within seconds; Vipir simply ran – out through the city gates and all the way back to Riften. He arrived drenched in sweat to find Vex already waiting in the Ragged Flagon and the whole Guild laughing at him. The two had left their horses tied up outside Windhelm, and she had simply ridden hers home.

The rest of the Guild isn’t much kinder. Sapphire teases that the ‘Fleet’ describes his bedroom performance, and Thrynn has no patience for his tall tales about fighting off trolls single-handed. With Niruin he grumbles about the Guild’s lean times – even Tonilia is short of coin – but once the Guild recovers, the pair happily compare how busy they are.

Good to know

During Loud and Clear he has a handy tip about Goldenglow Estate: don’t waste time hacking at the beehives, just set them on fire. Offer him a Book of Mara and he asks whether you’ve lost your mind.
