Vilkas is the Master-at-Arms of the Companions and a member of The Circle in Whiterun. Where his twin Farkas is the friendly muscle, Vilkas is the sharp one – proud, serious and not easily impressed. He is also a werewolf, like the rest of The Circle.
How to recruit Vilkas
Vilkas tests your fighting skills when you first ask to join the Companions. He becomes a follower after you complete “Glory of the Dead”, the final quest of the main Companions questline.
As a follower
Vilkas is a heavy-armored two-handed warrior with strong Archery and Block as backup. He levels with you up to level 50 and hits very hard.
Training, marriage and more
- Trainer: master-level Two-Handed training.
- Marriage: yes – after the Companions questline.
- Steward: can look after a Hearthfire homestead.
- Blades: can be recruited into the Blades.
Background
Vilkas and Farkas were rescued from necromancers as children by the Companion Jergen and grew up in Jorrvaskr.
