Glenmoril Coven is a cave in the forest northwest of Falkreath, and anyone who has climbed the ranks of the Companions knows it well. The Glenmoril Witches who live here are hagravens who know how to cure lycanthropy – which makes them very interesting to a certain group of werewolves in Whiterun. Spriggan heads on sticks outside the entrance are a fair warning about the interior decorating.
What you’ll find
- Hags (or the Glenmoril Witches, during the related quests) throughout the cave, starting with one guarding the entrance outside.
- Random leveled creatures alongside them: trolls, skeevers or frostbite spiders of various sizes.
- A large central cavern with a fire, and four tunnels branching off it: one to a storeroom with a chest and ingredients, one to a quiet waterfall room, one to an arcane enchanter, and the last to the main cavern.
- The final cavern has a tent, a boss chest with leveled loot and gold, and a bloodied sacrificial altar – a shrine to Hircine – with two random potions.
- An iron ore vein in a tunnel with a frostbite spider.

- Blood’s Honor – bring back a Glenmoril Witch head so Kodlak Whitemane can be freed of his lycanthropy.
- Purity – the same errand again, this time to cure Farkas or Vilkas.
- Possible location for Shalidor’s Insights and for Meridia’s Beacon (The Break of Dawn).

Tips
The witches love to shout lines like “Your blood is ours, Companion!” – so they know exactly who sent you. The random creatures scale with your level, and at high levels you may even meet two giant frostbite spiders, so don’t treat this as a casual errand. Check the dark corner left of the entrance for the hidden chest before heading deeper.
Good to know
Some players hear a Word of Power chanting near the walls, but there is no Word Wall here – the sound leaks in from somewhere outside the cave.
