Brenuin is a Redguard beggar and drunk in Whiterun. He seems to have no home at all, and he never sleeps: he simply drifts around the city and loiters in the marketplace, hoping someone will take pity on him.
Where to find them
Check the Whiterun marketplace first, where he hovers around the stalls, or wander the streets until he finds you.
Quests
Brenuin will ask you to steal a bottle of Argonian Ale for him from the Bannered Mare (Argonian Ale Extraction). Help him out and, if he ever dies, a courier may bring you a surprisingly generous inheritance of 100 gold, minus the Jarl’s tax.
Personality & relationships
Brenuin is defensive and a little shifty, quick to insist he hasn’t done anything and to ask whether he owes you money. The market traders know him well. Carlotta Valentia shoos him away from her fruit, though she does promise him leftovers, earning herself a comparison to Mara. Anoriath teases him for browsing meat he never buys, and Ysolda refuses to fund his drinking. He is also thoroughly tired of Heimskr and his endless preaching about Talos.
Good to know
Although he is a Redguard, Brenuin calls himself a Nord while begging from Ysolda. Lucia (Hearthfire) says he is the only person in Whiterun who cares about her and that he taught her to beg, though he never mentions her.
