Falkreath

Falkreath is the capital of Falkreath Hold, tucked away among tall pine forests in the south of Skyrim, near the border with Cyrodiil. It is a small, quiet and rather gloomy town – best known for its enormous graveyard, which seems to hold more residents than the town itself.

• The Jarl’s Longhouse – seat of Jarl Siddgeir.
• The graveyard and Hall of the Dead – the town’s most famous feature.
• Dead Man’s Drink – the local inn, with a very fitting name.
• Lod’s forge – the town blacksmith.

Quests and secrets

• On your first visit, you will likely meet Barbas, a talking dog looking for his master.
• The Dark Brotherhood’s sanctuary is hidden in the woods of Falkreath Hold.
• With Hearthfire, you can buy a plot of land from the jarl and build Lakeview Manor nearby.

Good to know

Helgen, where Skyrim begins, also lies in Falkreath Hold.
