Morwen’s Request is a gentle Dragonborn errand that links Solstheim with the mainland. Morwen, who works as a tanner in Skaal Village, has found her mother Bera’s old necklace and wants it placed on her grave in Falkreath, far away in Falkreath Hold. Somebody has to sail across, and that somebody is you.
How to start
- Complete The Fate of the Skaal.
- Speak to Morwen in Skaal Village and ask what she needs. She gives you Bera’s Necklace.
The story behind it is a small romance. A trading ship from Skyrim once hit ice near the village, and the Skaal sheltered the surviving sailors. Bera fell for one of them, the man who became Morwen’s father, and left with him for Skyrim. She never came back and died in Falkreath, where Morwen was born. The necklace was a wedding gift from her husband, and Morwen sees it as a symbol of Bera’s love and of what she gave up for it.
Walkthrough
Travel to Falkreath
Take the necklace to Runil, the priest in Falkreath. Morwen asks you to say that she sent you; he will understand.
Speak to Runil
Runil remembers Morwen well, and her parents too. He describes Bera and Ulfarr as good people who were deeply in love, and recalls that Morwen left to live among her mother’s people on Solstheim. He recognises the silver necklace at once, says Bera rarely took it off, and gladly agrees to place it at her grave. If you point out that Morwen is hardly young any more, he jokes that she will always be a feisty little girl to him, and that at his age young is a very relative word.
Return to Morwen
Go back to Skaal Village and tell Morwen that Runil agreed. She is moved, says she is in your debt and gives you a reward as thanks, calling you an ally of the Skaal once more.
Rewards
- A Nordic Carved Helmet (part of the Nordic Carved armor line).
- Morwen becomes a marriage candidate.
Tips and notes
- Combine the trip with other mainland business; there is plenty to do around Falkreath, including Thane of Falkreath.
- Runil has his own story, told in Find Runil’s Journal and Runil’s Dark Past.
- Morwen does not promise much, since she has little to give, but the helmet is a solid piece for a light-armored or Nordic-themed build.
- The journal contains a failed stage, but the source does not explain what triggers it.
