Thonjolf

Thonjolf is Kraldar's devoted Nord housecarl in Winterhold, patiently reporting that nothing has happened and chasing a reluctant steward around.

Thonjolf is a Nord in Winterhold and the loyal housecarl of the noble Kraldar. He sees it as an honour to serve a family that was once among the most powerful in town.

Where to find them

Normally he lives in Kraldar’s House. If you side with the Imperial Legion and Kraldar becomes Jarl, Thonjolf follows him into the Jarl’s Longhouse. If Kraldar is later driven out, the two of them end up lying low in Erikur‘s house in Solitude.

Quests

Animal Extermination – Thonjolf can ask you to clear a wild beast out of his home. Steal from him or Kraldar, on the other hand, and he may send hired thugs after you.

Personality & relationships

Thonjolf believes in Kraldar’s big plans for Winterhold and thinks the town would be better off with him in charge. His daily routine involves Kraldar asking for exciting news and Thonjolf gently explaining there isn’t any – not even from the College – and promising to report the moment something happens. He also dutifully passes on Kraldar’s dinner invitations to Arch-Mage Savos Aren, while pointing out that the last several went unanswered.

His patience ends with Malur Seloth. Thonjolf takes pride in his work and has little time for people who don’t; when he tries to hand Malur a task, the steward refuses before hearing what it is. Under Kraldar’s rule, Thonjolf admits he doesn’t understand why Malur is kept around, and grumbles that he is the only one Kraldar can truly rely on.
