Thaena is a Nord woman in Winterhold, married to Jarl Korir and mother of their son Assur. Officially she is also her husband’s housecarl, though she never actually behaves like one.
Where to find them
She lives in the Jarl’s Longhouse. When Korir pops over to the inn, Thaena sometimes takes his seat on the throne. If the Imperial Legion takes Winterhold, the family is pushed out and ends up living in Brunwulf Free-Winter‘s house in Windhelm.
Personality & relationships
Life hasn’t turned out the way Thaena hoped. Winterhold is a shadow of the city she wanted to grow up in, her husband has become bitter, and she fears for her son’s future. Korir stops just short of naming a culprit; Thaena doesn’t. She blames the College of Winterhold for everything, from the town’s decline to the weather, and agrees whenever Korir guesses that a cold day is the mages’ fault.
She is fiercely proud of her family, claiming they are the only one left that truly cares about Winterhold, and believes Assur will become a great man because of all the hardship. She can’t believe Dagur lets a wizard like Nelacar live at his inn.
If Korir loses his seat, her mood darkens further: she would rather see the Sea of Ghosts swallow the town than have it run by the Empire. During Containment, she demands to know what you people at the College have done.
