Dagur is a Nord who runs The Frozen Hearth, the inn in Winterhold. Unlike most Nords in town, he has nothing against the College or the mages who pass through, which puts him at odds with Jarl Korir.
Where to find them
He’s at The Frozen Hearth, where he lives and works with his wife Haran and their daughter Eirid. The first time you walk in, you’ll probably catch him complaining to the resident mage about a terrible smell.
Quests
Ask Dagur if there’s anything you can help with and he’ll mention that Ranmir‘s lover, Isabelle Rolaine, has disappeared. That sets you on the path of Drowned Sorrows.
Services
Dagur is the innkeeper and food vendor, so this is the place for a room, a meal and a mug of mead. He’s also happy to point new arrivals toward the College just north of town.
Personality & relationships
Dagur is easygoing to a fault. Nelacar keeps a permanent room at the inn, and Dagur’s chats with him are a highlight: a smell he compares to a monster turned inside out and exploded, and an “explosion” in the night that Nelacar insists had no consequences. Dagur sighs that this is exactly why people have a problem with the College.
He shrugs off Haran’s worries about Eirid playing Hunt the Elf, notes that Korir has been grumbling about their customers, and is content to keep serving Ranmir as long as he pays. Haran is the one who told him to stay out of other families’ business, after all.
Good to know
Drop a piece of armor near him and, now and then, he might ask if he can keep it.
