Faryl Atheron is a Dunmer living in Windhelm who earns his keep as a farmhand at Brandy-Mug Farm, just outside the city walls. It isn’t the career he dreamed of, and he will tell you so.
Where to find them
He lives in the Atheron Residence in the Gray Quarter. Most of the time he lounges on the ledge outside the New Gnisis Cornerclub, and a few days a week he walks out to the farm to work for Bolfrida Brandy-Mug.
Personality & relationships
Faryl feels he has little choice: as a Dark Elf in Windhelm, working for a Nord is what puts food on the table. He and his sister Suvaris Atheron both work for Nords, which their brother Aval Atheron looks down on. Faryl is even relieved that nobody from the city can see him out in the fields.
His chats with Bolfrida are a highlight. She keeps coming up with farming ideas – corn in permafrost, plowing with fire salts – and he dryly explains why each one won’t work. When she suggests he must find farming easier than in Morrowind, he points out he has never even been there.
Good to know
- Kill Faryl and Aval will send hired thugs after you, and the same goes the other way around.
- If you murder Aval, Faryl may later challenge you to a duel when you enter a major city, then turn hostile.
