Lisbet is a Nord shopkeeper who runs the Arnleif and Sons Trading Company in Markarth. And no, she is not Arnleif, and she knows the sign says “and Sons”. She inherited the store from her husband Gunnar, whose father was Arnleif. She has a darker side, though, which comes out later.
Where to find them
She is at Arnleif and Sons, behind the counter, usually complaining about missing shipments.
Quests
Ask her whether the store has seen better days and she’ll admit that Forsworn raiders stole her last shipment, a specially made Dibella statuette. She asks you to get it back. The location is randomly chosen and can be a Forsworn camp such as Deepwood Redoubt, Broken Tower Redoubt or Serpent’s Bluff Redoubt. Return the statue and she pays you for your trouble.
During The Taste of Death you find out that Lisbet is a member of the Coven of Namira and a guest at Eola‘s feast. Back at the shop, she’ll quietly tell you not to talk about it.
Services
She sells general goods. The shelves look sparse, but she insists she can find whatever you need. If she dies, her assistant Imedhnain takes over the shop.
Personality & relationships
Lisbet is a tired, sharp-tongued businesswoman. She keeps scolding the porter Cosnach for loafing and only keeps him on as a favour to his cousin Imedhnain. She claims Gunnar died in a Forsworn attack about five years ago and that she misses the stubborn oaf. Her remarks at Namira’s table suggest she ate him, and possibly her brother too, so you may want to take her grief with a pinch of salt.
Good to know
If you sided with the vampires in Bloodline (Dawnguard), she is one of the high-profile targets for the radiant quest Deceiving the Herd.
