Muiri is a Breton who works as assistant to the old alchemist Bothela at The Hag’s Cure in Markarth. She seems shy and a bit overwhelmed by all there is to learn in the shop. She’s also the person who has been praying for the Dark Brotherhood to come and kill someone.

Quests
Muiri is the client in Mourning Never Comes. Tell her the Brotherhood has arrived and she can hardly believe her Black Sacrament worked. Her target is Alain Dufont, her former lover, who turned out to be leading a gang of bandits out of the Dwemer ruin of Raldbthar near Windhelm. Killing Alain is the job. As an optional extra she will pay more if you also kill Nilsine Shatter-Shield in Windhelm. She also hands over a special poison she brewed for the job but never had the nerve to use.
Kill only Alain and you get paid, plus a slightly guilt-trippy remark. Kill both and she gives you her ring as a token of affection. Only Alain’s death is needed to continue the Brotherhood story.
Services
If you marry her, she runs a shop from home. She sells general goods unless Bothela is already dead, in which case she works as an apothecary. She also takes over The Hag’s Cure if Bothela dies.
Follower & marriage
Muiri can be married, but only if you complete her contract in full, meaning both Alain and Nilsine must die. Wear an Amulet of Mara and ask. If you destroy the Brotherhood instead (Destroy the Dark Brotherhood!), marriage is off the table.
Personality & relationships
Muiri was close to the Shatter-Shield family of Windhelm, so close that she calls herself a daughter to Tova and a sister to Nilsine and Friga. While grieving Friga’s murder she met the charming Alain, who used her to get near the family and rob them, including their heirloom warhammer. The Shatter-Shields blamed her as an accomplice and drove her out, and she fled to Markarth. Her grief has curdled into a cold need for revenge. She also complains that the men of Markarth won’t leave her alone.
Good to know
After her contract, she tends to thank you for solving her “problem” every time you speak, even after the wedding. When Veezara talks about her contract, he pronounces her name differently from everyone else.
