Moth gro-Bagol

Moth gro-Bagol is an Orc Legion veteran and the Jarl’s personal blacksmith in Understone Keep, Markarth, who trades armour for a Daedra heart and can be married.
“I’m the Jarl’s personal blacksmith, but that doesn’t mean I can’t sell you a few pieces for a fair price.”

Moth gro-Bagol is an Orc blacksmith serving as the Jarl’s personal smith in Understone Keep, Markarth. Being the Jarl’s man doesn’t stop him selling a few pieces to you at a fair price. He is the brother of fellow smith Ghorza gra-Bagol.

Where to find them

He works at his forge in Understone Keep, upstairs and to the right. Since Ghorza and her apprentice take the two beds there, Moth never sleeps, which makes him one of the few blacksmiths you can trade with at any hour.

Quests

Ask Moth for armour advice and he offers a deal: the Jarl wants his new sword cooled in blood, so Moth needs a Daedra heart. Bring him one and he hands over a piece of his best armour. He also sends word to the Orc strongholds that you can be trusted, making you blood-kin, and can mark Dushnikh Yal on your map.

Services

He sells weapons, armour and smithing materials, and always seems to have silver ingots in stock. Steal from him and he may send thugs after you.

Follower & marriage

Once you’ve brought him the Daedra heart, Moth can be married. As a spouse he keeps running his shop, still sells his usual stock and shares 100 gold a day of his profits with you. With Hearthfire, he has opinions about where you raise adopted children: he thinks a rough city keeps kids alert, likes Lakeview Manor, and thinks Riften teaches them bad habits.

Personality & relationships

Moth and Ghorza grew up in an Orc stronghold, left together, and spent over ten years in the Imperial Legion mastering their trade. There he served alongside Thongvor Silver-Blood, whom he respects as a good man and tough soldier, though he teases him about swinging a sword like a meat cleaver and refuses to talk politics. Like his sister, he isn’t impressed by her apprentice Tacitus, but he only says the boy has no talent.
