Kleppr is a Nord who runs the Silver-Blood Inn in Markarth with his wife Frabbi. Their children Hroki and Hreinn work there as well. He will cheerfully remind you who actually owns the inn, and that in this city ale costs less than blood.
Where to find them
He is behind the bar at the Silver-Blood Inn. When you sit at the counter, he sends Frabbi over to take care of you.
Quests
In The Forsworn Conspiracy, Kleppr holds the key to Margret‘s room. He won’t hand it over for free, claiming guest privacy, but you can persuade him, bribe him or intimidate him. Pickpocketing it also works.
He is also the recipient of a purchase agreement you can deliver for Bolli, who owns the fishery in Riften.
Services
As innkeeper he rents rooms and sells food and drink. Ask him about magic and he’ll recommend the College of Winterhold, adding that the Jarl’s wizard might help too.
Personality & relationships
Kleppr and Frabbi bicker constantly. She calls him an idiot, he answers with dry sarcasm, and their son seems resigned to it. He insists they don’t fight, they just talk loudly. He tells Hreinn he will be a fine innkeeper one day, just like his father. He also needles the porter Cosnach, who accuses him of watering down the drinks, and pesters the old skald Ogmund to play something popular. When Vorstag worries about the Forsworn, Kleppr brushes it off.
Good to know
If Frabbi dies, he remarks that the inn is much quieter now. Their marriage is that kind of marriage.
