Francois Beaufort is an Imperial orphan living at Honorhall Orphanage in Riften. His name sounds Breton, but the game lists him as Imperial. About a year ago his parents dropped him off there, and he’s been waiting for them to come back for him ever since.
Where to find them
Honorhall Orphanage, along with his friends Runa Fair-Shield, Hroar and Samuel. He was also friends with Aventus Aretino, and says things have got much worse since that boy ran away.
Quests
He’s one of the children you’ll see during Innocence Lost. While Grelod the Kind runs the place he’s miserable, and he’s quite sure she’s at least part hagraven. When she dies he can hardly believe his luck.
Personality & relationships
He’s a well-mannered, slightly timid boy who keeps strangers at arm’s length, because Constance Michel told the children to be careful. Your gear might strike him as a bit scary, but in his eyes nobody beats Grelod for that. He keeps hoping his parents will return, which is exactly the kind of hope Grelod wants to stamp out.
(Hearthfire) If you come to adopt him, he’s happy to go with you, at least until his real parents show up.
