Arnskar Ember-Master is a Nord smith and a member of the Thieves Guild, working underneath Riften. He isn’t there from day one: you have to earn him by helping the Guild extend its reach.
Where to find them
He sets up shop in The Ragged Flagon, the Guild’s tavern hideout, in an alcove on the north wall. His corner comes with a forge, a grindstone and a workbench, so you can do your own crafting right next to his counter.
Quests
Arnskar shows up after you complete the third of the special City Influence jobs handed out by Delvin Mallory. He is one of four merchants unlocked this way, alongside Syndus, Herluin Lothaire and Vanryth Gatharian.
Services
He buys and sells weapons, armour and smithing materials. Handy if you’ve just come back from a job loaded with loot and don’t fancy walking it up to the street-level shops.
Personality & relationships
Modesty is not his strong suit. He greets customers by claiming to be the finest smith in all of Skyrim, and his nickname is apparently something he feels he has earned. Beyond his trade and his Guild membership, the sources say little about his past.
Good to know
Even with the Investor perk from the Speech tree, you can’t invest in his shop.
