Vanryth Gatharian is a Dunmer smith and armor dealer tied to the Thieves Guild. He isn’t around when you first walk into the Ragged Flagon beneath Riften – he is one of the rewards for putting the Guild back on its feet.
Where to find them
Vanryth sets up shop in an alcove in the south wall of the Ragged Flagon after you finish the last of the special jobs handed out by Delvin Mallory. Those City Influence quests unlock four new merchants in total: Vanryth, Syndus, Herluin Lothaire and Arnskar Ember-Master.
Services
He deals in weapons and armor, with a noticeably larger range of armor than most merchants of his kind; the rest of his stock is the usual blacksmith fare. His greetings make a point of offering to fix up your Guild armor, too.
Good to know
- You can’t invest in his shop with the Investor perk from the Speech tree.
- Glover Mallory claims that everything he knows about smithing, he learned from Vanryth.
