Heimvar is a Nord blacksmith’s apprentice who lives and works at Solitude Blacksmith in Solitude, learning the trade under Beirand. He is paid in food, experience and a roof over his head – in the finest city in Skyrim, as he is quick to add.

Blacksmith goods – swords and armour – though he will happily point you to his master if you want the best. Ask whether they sell anything that can kill a dragon and he laughs: no man is a match for one, but a good blade can’t hurt.
Personality & relationships
Heimvar is a loyal Imperial supporter who wishes your sword plenty of Stormcloak flesh. He thinks money-chasing turns people into the likes of Jaree-Ra, whom he calls a plague on the city – Captain Aldis just can’t prove what the Argonian is up to. If you have already finished Lights Out!, he is surprised to hear Jaree-Ra is dead, though not at all surprised that he was mixed up in something dangerous.
Beirand teases him that his young son could work the bellows better; Heimvar fires back that the boy can’t hammer for eight hours straight or hold his mead. Beirand’s reply: give the kid a couple of years and he’ll be the age Heimvar was when he started.
