Gorm is a Nord warrior and the housecarl of Jarl Idgrod Ravencrone in Morthal. He takes his job of protecting her very seriously, at least in public, and he has zero patience for anyone who mocks her visions in his presence.
Where to find them
Usually at the Jarl’s side in Highmoon Hall. He also takes his meals at the Moorside Inn, and that is where he is most willing to talk.
Quests
Catch Gorm at the inn without the Jarl nearby and he confides that he is worried about Idgrod: she is so lost in her visions that he doubts she can still tell what is real. He asks you to deliver a private letter to Captain Aldis in Solitude, part of his plan to see her removed. This errand, known as For the Good of Morthal, never shows up in your journal and pays at most 20 gold, but it does count as one of the good deeds Idgrod requires before she names you Thane.
If the Stormcloaks take Morthal or it is traded away at the peace talks, Gorm follows Idgrod and the rest of the Imperial-leaning court into exile at the Blue Palace in Solitude.
Personality & relationships
Gorm is short-tempered and blunt. Tell him you don’t like being ordered around and he cheerfully offers to break your legs. With Idgrod he is gentle and concerned, and she can tell something is troubling him. At the inn he shares conspiratorial mutterings with Benor about how something must be done, and he scolds Alva for flirting with him behind Hroggar‘s back. In exile he is bitter, calls you a milk drinker and insists that leaving Morthal to Ulfric Stormcloak is wrong.
Good to know
Gorm is not essential. If you kill him, the steward Aslfur may send you a letter thanking you for removing his rival.
