Lurbuk is an Orc bard who has made the Moorside Inn in Morthal his stage. He trained at the Bards College in Solitude, which makes it all the more impressive that he is famous as the worst bard in Tamriel. Nobody has told him. Or rather, everyone has, and he has not listened.
Where to find them
He performs in the Moorside Inn during the day, taking breaks now and then, and rents a bed there too.
Quests
Contract: Kill Lurbuk: so many people want Lurbuk silenced that, according to Nazir, Astrid had to draw lots to pick which request the Dark Brotherhood would honour. Tell Lurbuk someone paid to have him killed and he laughs it off. Ask for a song of fear and death and he improvises a gloriously clumsy verse on the spot.
Laid to Rest: if he is still breathing, the Jarl sends him with the volunteers to Movarth’s Lair, where his bravest idea is to let you go in first.
Services
You can request songs from him, if you really want to.
Personality & relationships
Lurbuk is relentlessly upbeat. He greets newcomers with rhymes, insists the gloom of Morthal is nothing to fear, and vows that he will win the town’s hearts one day. The innkeeper Jonna only lets him stay because he pays. She tells him the locals will never warm to his serenades and turns down his offer to immortalise her in song, to which he replies that she will regret it once he is famous across Tamriel.
Good to know
He takes the townsfolk ignoring him as a challenge rather than a hint, and even makes a rhyme out of it.
