Virkmund is a Nord child living in Morthal. He is the son of mill worker Thonnir and Laelette, the woman whose disappearance sits at the heart of the town’s vampire troubles.

He lives in Thonnir’s house in Morthal.
Personality & relationships
Like his father, Virkmund believes his mother walked out on them to join the Stormcloaks. Unlike his father, he has not given up on her. He keeps waiting for her to come back, even though Thonnir has told him not to, and he can’t understand why she would rather be with soldiers than with him. If you follow the quest Laid to Rest, you will find out that the truth is much darker than anything he imagines, which makes his little speeches hit a bit harder.
Good to know
Cast a spell near him and he will ask you to turn him invisible, just like the Jarl’s son Joric. Whatever you do in response, nothing comes of it. The game’s internal data refers to him by the name Stofleid.
