Wolf

Common pack hunters of the wilderness. Weak alone, annoying in packs, and their bite can give you Rockjoint.

You’ll usually hear them before you see them. Wolves roam the wilds of Skyrim and Solstheim alone or in small packs, and for a fresh character on the road to Riverwood they’re often the first real test.

Where to find them

Everywhere outdoors. The tougher white Ice Wolf prefers the colder north. The fort of Faldar’s Tooth is known for having a lot of wolves inside.

Good to know

If you’re a werewolf in beast form, wolves leave you alone unless you attack them first.

Abilities & attacks

  • Bite attacks; power attacks can pass on Rockjoint (weaker melee)
  • Circle around you to attack from the side and back

How to beat it

Back up against a rock or wall so the pack can’t surround you, and take them down one by one. Cure Rockjoint at a shrine or with a potion afterwards.

Loot & harvestables

Wolf Pelt / Ice Wolf Pelt (always)
Minor loot (sometimes)

Ingredients and items it drops

Where to find it

Riverwood is the small lumber village where most Skyrim adventures really begin – blacksmith, inn, trader and the road up to Bleak Falls Barrow.
