The Mind of a Madman

Surreal realm inside the mind of Emperor Pelagius III, reached through Sheogorath during The Mind of Madness and solved only with the Wabbajack.

The Mind of a Madman is the inside of the head of Pelagius Septim III, the long-dead and famously insane Emperor. Sheogorath pulls you here from the Pelagius Wing of the Blue Palace in Solitude, and asks you to fix the Emperor’s broken psyche. It looks pleasantly green – don’t be fooled.

What you’ll find

  • Characters: Sheogorath, Pelagius Septim III, Pelagius the Suspicious, Pelagius the Tormented, Little Pelagius, Anger, Confidence, a Bodyguard and a Sultry Maiden.
  • Enemies: a Bandit Chief, a Dragon Priest, a Hagraven, flame, frost and storm thralls, Self Doubt and wolves.
  • A table next to Sheogorath’s throne with items on it.

Quests

The Mind of Madness: use the Wabbajack to repair Pelagius’s mind, one bizarre problem at a time.

Tips

You can’t open your inventory or magic menu here, so the Wabbajack is your only tool – think like a madman and zap creatively. The items on the table by Sheogorath’s throne aren’t owned by him, so help yourself without guilt.
