Adelaisa Vendicci is an Imperial member of the East Empire Company who runs the company’s office by the docks outside Windhelm. She is all business: pirates are costing the company gold, her clerk Orthus Endario has not fixed the problem, and she wants results. Once you deliver them, she becomes one of the game’s recruitable followers.
Where to find them
She shows up during the quest Rise in the East and afterwards stays in the East Empire Company office at Windhelm Docks. If she joins the Blades, she will live at Sky Haven Temple instead.
Quests
Rise in the East – Adelaisa enters the picture after you uncover who is behind the attacks: a pirate gang called the Blood Horkers. Once you report that their leader is a battle-mage named Haldyn, she is visibly surprised that a man with his reputation would side with pirates, and since the company is short on soldiers she drafts you onto the expedition. No arguments allowed.
On the ship she explains that Haldyn hides his base on Japhet’s Folly behind magical fog, and her men are too afraid of him to go in first. Your job is to slip in and kill Haldyn so the fog lifts and the real assault can begin. When he is dead she waits for you on the shore, ready to sail back to Windhelm, where her crew is apparently very keen on some mead.
Follower & marriage
After Rise in the East is done, you can recruit her as a follower. Do not let the heavy armor fool you, though: her class is Citizen, and her best skills are Alchemy, Enchanting and Smithing. That puts her among the three weakest followers in the game, alongside Sven and Roggi Knot-Beard. She makes a fine companion for role-play, but you may be the one protecting her.
She can also be hired as a steward for your homestead (Hearthfire) and can be recruited into the Blades. She is not a marriage candidate.
Personality & relationships
Adelaisa is brisk and short on patience. She tells Orthus that apologies won’t bring back the company’s money, and once you have proved yourself she treats you as the one competent person around. Afterwards she greets you as the company’s hero, thanks you for getting the office running and asks whether you have seen any more pirates. She is also busy, and lets you know it.
Good to know
- Even as your steward she keeps her Rise in the East lines, so she may still talk about pirates while minding your house.
- She shares a voice actress with Aela the Huntress.
