Salvianus is an Imperial man living in the Ratway Warrens, deep below Riften. Everything about him – his name, his Imperial armour, the officer’s helmet on his table – points to a former soldier of the Imperial Legion. Whatever he saw in the war, it broke something in him.
Where to find them
You’ll find him tucked away in one of the rooms of the Ratway Warrens, the grim lower section of the sewers where Riften’s lost souls end up. Most players meet him while searching for Esbern.
Quests
Salvianus has no quest, but he is in the Warrens during A Cornered Rat. When Thalmor agents force their way in, he panics and shouts that they should be dead because he has already killed them over and over.
Personality & relationships
His mumbled lines suggest he fought in the Great War during the siege of the Imperial City. He talks about fires spread across Lake Rumare, about golden-skinned enemies who still bled red, and about a medal he was given and later threw away because it didn’t help. He also keeps mentioning a mysterious “he” who once explained everything to him, though who that is he never says.
