Lynly Star-Sung is a Nord bard and barmaid working at the Vilemyr Inn in Ivarstead. She’ll gladly play you a tune on her lute – but “Lynly” is not her real name. She is hiding from a past that involves one of the most dangerous families in Riften.
Where to find them
At the Vilemyr Inn, where she works alongside the innkeeper Wilhelm.
Quests
The Lover’s Requital: Sibbi Black-Briar asks you to track down his former lover, Svidi, and report back. Confront Lynly and she admits the truth: she is Svidi. Sibbi murdered her brother Wulfur, she had Sibbi arrested, and she has lived in fear under a new name ever since. Interestingly, even if you tell Sibbi where she is, nothing happens to her.
Services
Lynly is the inn’s entertainment. Pay her 5 gold and she plays a song on the lute; with a high enough Speech skill you can compliment her instead and get a special tune for free. She only plays the lute, so she can’t take the usual song requests other bards accept. The game files also count her as a merchant at the inn.
Personality & relationships
Courteous with every customer, Lynly offers music to passing travellers and sends them off wishing them a pleasant journey. She keeps a low profile in a village where few strangers stop for long, which makes a lot more sense once you know who she is running from. Sibbi describes Svidi as having long black hair, while Lynly wears her hair short and blonde – a sign she went to real lengths to become someone else.
