Alessandra is an Imperial and the priestess of Arkay in Riften. She looks after the city’s Hall of the Dead entirely on her own, making sure the departed get their proper rites and burial. Let’s just say she does the job out of duty, not love.
Where to find them
You’ll find her at Riften’s Hall of the Dead, which she tends single-handedly. Since nobody else will help, she can’t easily leave her post.
Quests
Ask her about her work and she eventually opens up about her father, a priest of Arkay who trained her. When a priest finishes their training they receive a ceremonial dagger, usually from the head priest, and in her case that was her father. He died before she completed her training, so she now owns two daggers and wants to give his back to make peace with his memory.
She asks you to take the dagger to Andurs, the caretaker of the Hall of the Dead in Whiterun. Confusingly, she names Windhelm in her dialogue, but Whiterun is where you need to go. Return to her afterwards and she says she felt her father’s touch and is finally content.
Personality & relationships
Alessandra is quiet, a little bitter and quick to assume people are laughing at her. She grew up surrounded by corpses and burial prayers, which meant other children kept away from the odd girl who hung around the dead. She never wanted the priesthood, but took it on for the family’s honour. Underneath the gloom there is still a strong sense of duty.
Good to know
She promises you a gift for delivering the dagger, but often nothing actually turns up. With a high enough Restoration skill you may instead receive a handful of adept Restoration spell tomes.
