Hollyfrost Farm sits on the road east from Windhelm Stables, a little past its neighbour Hlaalu Farm, outside Windhelm. It’s a working farm rather than an adventure spot, but it’s a pleasant stop for selling crops, picking berries or cooking a meal on your way east toward Traitor’s Post and the mountains beyond.
What you’ll find
- Torsten Cruel-Sea, the owner, who can sometimes be seen working on the farm himself.
- Tulvur, who works the field and will buy wheat from you.
- Torsten’s two dogs, Tiber and Ysgramor – named after two of the biggest legends in Tamrielic history, which is a lot to live up to for a pair of farm dogs.
- A wheat field and one nest of chicken’s eggs.
- Plenty of snowberries growing around the farm.
- A cooking pot inside the farmhouse, plus a grindstone and a wood chopping block behind the house.
Tips
Snowberries are the real reason an alchemist might stop here. They grow in abundance around the farm, so it’s a cheap and easy place to stock up before a brewing session. Just stick to the wild bushes: the wheat in the field belongs to the farm, and grabbing it in front of Tulvur won’t win you any friends.
If you’ve been harvesting your own crops elsewhere, Tulvur is happy to take wheat off your hands. The grindstone behind the house lets you sharpen your weapons for free, and the chopping block is good for a few coins if you’re short on gold early in the game. Combine the two farms on this road and you have a simple little circuit for selling produce outside the city walls.
Good to know
Just like at Hlaalu Farm next door, there’s a fireplace inside the farmhouse but no chimney outside. The builders along this road clearly had a shared blind spot.
