Sabre Cat Pelt

Sabre Cat Pelt is taken from the deadly sabre cats of Skyrim’s tundra and tans into four pieces of Leather.

Sabre Cat Pelt comes from the big cats that turn many a new character into a cautionary tale on the Whiterun tundra. It is worth 25 gold, weighs 2 and tans into 4 Leather, so a single cat gives as much leather as four wolves. The Animal Pelt Collection quest accepts it as well.

How to get it

Hunt sabre cats on the tundra around Whiterun and in the Reach. They are fast and hit hard, so bring a bow or a follower. Hunters and Orc hunters carry pelts, and general goods merchants such as Belethor and Imedhnain sell them.

Loose pelts are in Narzulbur (3), Greenspring Hollow, Pinewatch, Faendal’s House and the Miner’s House (2 each), and in Hollyfrost Farm, Vittoria Vici’s House and Klimmek’s House in Ivarstead.

Whether you sell it or tan it, a sabre cat pelt is one of the better pelts to bring home. If you are grinding Leather Armor or Hide Armor, a few cats from the tundra keep the tanning rack busy for quite a while. Their teeth are useful for alchemy too.
