Swamp Fungal Pod

A glowing pod from marsh edges – Paralysis, Restore Health, Resist Shock and Lingering Damage Magicka.

Swamp Fungal Pods grow at the edges of water in Skyrim’s marshes. They’re an unusual mix: Restore Health and Resist Shock for potions, but also Paralysis and Lingering Damage Magicka for poisons.

Alchemy effects

The effects are listed in the order you discover them by eating the ingredient or using it in a potion. Two ingredients make a potion when they share at least one effect.

  1. Resist Shock – reduces the shock damage you take for a while. Also on: Blue Dartwing, Glow Dust, Glowing Mushroom, Hawk Beak, Pearl, Pine Thrush Egg, Snowberries.
  2. Lingering Damage Magicka – a poison effect that drains the target’s Magicka over time. Also on: Hagraven Claw, Purple Mountain Flower, Torchbug Thorax, Wheat.
  3. Paralysis – a poison effect that leaves the target paralysed and helpless for a few seconds. Also on: Briar Heart, Canis Root, Human Flesh, Imp Stool.
  4. Restore Health – instantly restores lost Health. Also on: Blisterwort, Blue Dartwing, Blue Mountain Flower, Butterfly Wing, Charred Skeever Hide, Daedra Heart, Eye of Sabre Cat, Imp Stool, Rock Warbler Egg, Wheat.

Tips and trivia

Mixed with Imp Stool you get a poison that paralyses but also heals the target – handy for getting someone out of the way without killing them, or for training weapon skills safely.
