The Blue Dartwing is a dragonfly that hovers over lakes and ponds. Unlike butterflies, dartwings spook easily – walk up too slowly and they’re gone. The reward for a quick hand is a cheap ingredient with a nice spread of effects, including Fortify Pickpocket.
Alchemy effects
The effects are listed in the order you discover them by eating the ingredient or using it in a potion. Two ingredients make a potion when they share at least one effect.
- Resist Shock – reduces the shock damage you take for a while. Also on: Glow Dust, Glowing Mushroom, Hawk Beak, Pearl, Pine Thrush Egg, Snowberries, Swamp Fungal Pod.
- Fortify Pickpocket – makes pickpocketing easier for a while. Also on: Nordic Barnacle, Orange Dartwing, Slaughterfish Egg.
- Restore Health – instantly restores lost Health. Also on: Blisterwort, Blue Mountain Flower, Butterfly Wing, Charred Skeever Hide, Daedra Heart, Eye of Sabre Cat, Imp Stool, Rock Warbler Egg, Swamp Fungal Pod, Wheat.
- Fear – a poison effect that makes low-level creatures and people flee from combat. Also on: Cyrodilic Spadetail, Daedra Heart, Namira’s Rot, Powdered Mammoth Tusk.
Tips and trivia
Tip: catch the dartwings before the fish – the fish stay put, the dragonflies don’t. Later on, an Ice Storm spell skimming over the water freezes them in place so they drop where you can pick them up.
