Canis Root grows on a scraggly plant that looks a lot like a little dead tree, so it’s easy to walk straight past. Learn to spot it, though, because it carries Paralysis – one of the best poison effects – along with two weapon buffs.
Alchemy effects
The effects are listed in the order you discover them by eating the ingredient or using it in a potion. Two ingredients make a potion when they share at least one effect.

- Fortify One-handed – makes your one-handed weapons hit harder for a while. Also on: Bear Claws, Hanging Moss, Hawk Feathers, Rock Warbler Egg, Small Pearl.
- Fortify Marksman – makes your bows hit harder for a while (Archery). Also on: Elves Ear, Juniper Berries, Spider Egg.
- Paralysis – a poison effect that leaves the target paralysed and helpless for a few seconds. Also on: Briar Heart, Human Flesh, Imp Stool, Swamp Fungal Pod.
