Noster Eagle-Eye is an Imperial beggar who lives on the streets of Solitude. Long ago he was a scout in the Legion and fought in the Great War. He says he was on the field when the Aldmeri Dominion attacked Anvil, where he lost an eye and was left behind for dead. Unable to earn a living after that, he ended up begging.
Where to find them
He roams the streets of Solitude asking for spare change. Give him a coin and, like any beggar, he grants you the Gift of Charity blessing.
Quests
Dungeon Delving: ask Noster about his army days and he’ll mourn his beloved helmet, lost in one of the old caves he used to scout. The cave is picked at random from four near Solitude. Bring the helmet back and he’s delighted – he praises its Nord craftsmanship and teaches you an old scout’s trick, raising your Sneak skill.
Personality & relationships
Noster is bitter and a bit scattered. He insists he never abandoned his comrades – they abandoned him – and feels the war followed him home to Skyrim. He also rambles about losing things in general. Still, he’s not without simple joys: at Vittoria Vici‘s wedding in Bound Until Death he’s thrilled about free food and wine, and even hopes to kiss the bride for luck.
Good to know
He’s the Imperial mirror image of Angrenor Once-Honored: both are Great War veterans whose careers ended with an injury and who now beg in a capital city. After you return the helmet, he never actually wears it – instead it ends up on display in The Winking Skeever. Talk to him early, because the helmet quest may not become available if it doesn’t start on your first conversation.
