Gwilin

Endlessly cheerful Bosmer woodcutter in Ivarstead, apprentice to Temba Wide-Arm, who chops logs by the Vilemyr Inn and loves every minute of it.
“Such a fine day, smell the air! Isn’t it wonderful?”

Gwilin is a Bosmer (Wood Elf) living in Ivarstead and the apprentice of the mill owner Temba Wide-Arm. If Ivarstead has a sunshine department, he runs it: no matter what’s going on, Gwilin thinks it’s a fine day.

Where to find them

During the day he chops wood near the Vilemyr Inn, and at night he sleeps at the inn.

Quests

He has no quest of his own, but he’ll mention how angry the bears are making “Miss Temba”, nudging you toward her quest Grin and Bear It. Once you’ve dealt with the bears, he reports that she’s much happier – even if she’d never show it.

Personality & relationships

Gwilin’s optimism comes from his father, who told him the whole world lay before him and that he could be whatever he wanted. He took that to heart and settled into a simple life he’s genuinely content with. Ask him about High Hrothgar and he finds the permanent cloud cap over the peak a bit odd, though he figures the Greybeards know what’s up there. He can sometimes be overheard asking Klimmek whether he’s off up the 7,000 Steps again with supplies.
