Bleeding Crown

A blood-red cave mushroom with Fortify Block, Resist Magic and two weaknesses.

Bleeding Crown is a cave mushroom whose caps look as if someone has smeared them with blood. It grows in dark, damp places, which means you’ll usually be picking it with draugr or bandits breathing down your neck. It’s worth it – Resist Magic and Fortify Block are both handy, and the weakness effects make it a good poison base.

Alchemy effects

The effects are listed in the order you discover them by eating the ingredient or using it in a potion. Two ingredients make a potion when they share at least one effect.

  1. Weakness to Fire – a poison effect that makes the target take more fire damage. Also on: Frost Salts, Ice Wraith Teeth, Juniper Berries, Moon Sugar, Powdered Mammoth Tusk.
  2. Fortify Block – lets your block absorb more damage for a while. Also on: Briar Heart, Honeycomb, Pearl, Slaughterfish Scales, Tundra Cotton.
  3. Weakness to Poison – a poison effect that makes the target more vulnerable to poison. Also on: Abecean Longfin, Chaurus Eggs, Deathbell, Giant Lichen, Pine Thrush Egg, Sabre Cat Tooth, Small Antlers.
  4. Resist Magic – reduces the damage and effects of hostile magic for a while. Also on: Chicken’s Egg, Crimson Nirnroot, Hagraven Claw, Lavender, Nirnroot, Tundra Cotton, Void Salts, Wisp Wrappings.
