Froki’s Shack

Remote mountain hut near Autumnwatch Tower, home of old hunter Froki Whetted-Blade and his grandson Haming, who send you on Kyne’s Sacred Trials.

Froki’s Shack is a lonely little house clinging to a cliff in the southwestern mountains of the region, close to Autumnwatch Tower. It belongs to Froki Whetted-Blade, who lives here with his grandson Haming. It’s worth the climb for the quest, a skill book and some shiny rocks below the porch.

What you’ll find

  • Froki Whetted-Blade and Haming.
  • A tanning rack inside and a wood chopping block outside.
  • An orichalcum ore vein a few ledges down from the shack.
  • A path to the left as you leave the house, leading high up the mountain to a Shrine of Talos.

Quests

Kyne’s Sacred Trials – Froki asks you to defeat the sacred animal totems; your reward is Kyne’s Token.

Notable items

  • Vernaccus and Bourlor (Archery skill book).
  • Diadem of the Savant on the chopping block – it respawns every 20 days.
  • A diamond lodged in the right side of the orichalcum vein, easier to spot once the vein is mined out.

Tips

The shack is high up and out of the way, so combine the trip with Autumnwatch Tower or the climb to the shrine. Bring a pickaxe: mine the orichalcum first, then look for the diamond – it hides in plain sight. Everything in the house stays Froki’s even after the trials, so taking anything still counts as theft, and his bed stays off-limits too. Grandpa and grandson apparently share that single bed, so maybe don’t ask to stay the night. Because the Diadem of the Savant reappears every 20 days, the shack is a small but reliable stop if you pass by regularly, and the tanning rack is handy for turning pelts into leather.
