Scouts-Many-Marshes is an Argonian who has lived in Windhelm since he was a hatchling. He works the Windhelm Docks alongside the other Argonian laborers, doing the jobs the Nords would rather not. Unlike many of his neighbours, he isn’t bitter about it – he just wishes the city’s Nords, Argonians and Dark Elves could get along.
Where to find them
During the day he unloads cargo, usually firewood, down at the docks. At night he sleeps in the Argonian Assemblage outside the city walls.
Quests
A Few Words with You: ask if something is wrong and he’ll tell you that Torbjorn Shatter-Shield pays the Argonian dockhands a fraction of what he’d pay a Nord. Talk Torbjorn into raising their wages and Scouts gives you the savings he’d been keeping for a rainy day. Radiant quests from other characters can sometimes block this one from appearing; finishing those first may help.
Services
He trains Light Armor up to level 50.
Follower & marriage
Once you’ve helped him with his quest, wear an Amulet of Mara and he’ll be glad to walk by your side. After the wedding he can move into your home or you can live with him in the Argonian Assemblage. Like other spouses, he opens a little store and hands you half the daily earnings when asked. He may wander back to the docks after the wedding; catch up with him and ask again to move in.
Personality & relationships
Scouts is calm and optimistic. He’ll work for anyone who pays, Shatter-Shield or East Empire Company, and believes the Nords aren’t truly bad people deep down. Still, he resents Ulfric for barring Argonians from living inside the walls, and under Imperial rule he jokes that Ulfric should be reborn as an Argonian in a slum.
