Irgnir is a Nord miner living in Dawnstar. She digs for Beitild at the Iron-Breaker Mine and owns a modest house in town. Like everyone else in Dawnstar, she has been losing sleep to the same terrible dream, night after night.
Where to find them
She spends her working day at the Iron-Breaker Mine, heads to the Windpeak Inn in the evening for a drink and some company, and then goes home to Irgnir’s House to sleep (or try to).
Quests
When you first arrive in town, you may walk in on Irgnir having a full-on panic near or inside the Windpeak Inn. She insists the recurring nightmares are a curse and that she needs to leave town, while her friend Fruki tries to calm her down and the priest Erandur promises he’s working on it. The innkeeper Thoring chimes in to give the priest a chance. This scene is your doorway into Waking Nightmare.
Personality & relationships
Irgnir is nervous and keeps her head down – to strangers she’s just one of the miners who wants no trouble. With Fruki she’s sharper. Even though the two of them work for rival mines, they’re regular drinking companions, and Irgnir enjoys needling her: she tells Fruki to quit working for Leigelf, teases her about having a soft spot for her boss, and blames her aches on age rather than harder ore.
Good to know
According to Thoring’s daughter Karita, both Irgnir and Fruki keep eyeing her widowed father when they come in for drinks – a hint the oblivious innkeeper completely misses.
