Leigelf is a Nord miner and the owner of the Quicksilver Mine in Dawnstar. He’s proud of his mine, exhausted from the town’s nightmares and utterly consumed by his feud with the rival Iron-Breaker Mine, which happens to be run by his wife, Beitild.
Where to find them
During the day Leigelf hangs around outside the Quicksilver Mine, keeping an eye on his workers, including Lond at the smelter and Fruki.
Quests
Before Waking Nightmare is settled, he complains that he and every one of his workers are having nightmares that feel almost real, and he’s unsure whether the newly arrived priest of Mara can do anything about it.
Beitild is a target for the Dark Brotherhood. If she ends up dead by your hand, Leigelf may send you a letter thanking you. Fans have long suspected he might be the one who wanted her gone, given that he cheerfully admits he doesn’t miss her – but the game never confirms it.
Services
Ask about work and he’ll offer you a spot digging at Quicksilver. He buys quicksilver ore for 25 gold apiece, which makes him a handy stop if you’ve been mining.
Personality & relationships
Leigelf works himself to the bone, swearing he won’t rest until Quicksilver is back on top, Beitild is out of business and she apologises to him. What started the feud? He won’t say, and Lond suspects he doesn’t even remember. He’s grateful for Lond’s loyalty, wishing aloud that his wife were as uncomplicated. He also has no love for Iron-Breaker’s workers, whom he dismisses as milk drinkers.
On politics, he thinks Skald the Elder never outgrew being a spoiled brat; if the Legion installs Brina Merilis, he’s delighted to see Skald go.
Good to know
If Leigelf dies, a courier may bring you a letter of inheritance. Kill him yourself and Fruki will remember it.
