Lami is a Nord alchemist who keeps the Thaumaturgist’s Hut in Morthal. She learned the basics as a girl from a temple healer passing through on pilgrimage, and she has been tinkering ever since. Customers are rare, so she fills the quiet hours with experiments that mostly fail and mostly eat up her stock.
Where to find them
She works in the Thaumaturgist’s Hut and lives with her husband Jorgen in their house across the bridge, next to the mill.
Quests
Rare Gifts: ask how long she has studied alchemy and she will mention the book the healer carried, Song of the Alchemists. Bring her a copy and she rewards you with a free Alchemy lesson.
Laid to Rest: she is one of the townsfolk the Jarl sends with you to Movarth’s Lair. Her first comment is that the place looks dangerous, which tells you how long she plans to stay.
Services
Lami sells potions and alchemy supplies, assuming she hasn’t used them all up, and trains Alchemy up to Expert level. Steal from her shelves and she may send thugs after you.
Personality & relationships
She is warm and welcoming, and proud of how hard she and Jorgen work for the town. She also seems unusually close to Alva: if you kill Alva where people can see, Lami turns cold and tells you the gods know what you’ve done. Whether that is friendship or Alva’s influence slowly spreading through Morthal is left for you to wonder.
In Raven Rock, Milore Ienth mentions that she and her husband once lived with Lami for a while and picked up alchemy from her (Dragonborn).
Good to know
Upstairs in her shop sits a bowl full of skooma bottles. Experiments, presumably.
