Hogni Red-Arm is a Nord meat seller with a stall just inside the gates of Markarth. He’s loud, pushy, refuses to haggle and talks about blood a little too lovingly. The reason for that last part comes out later, and it isn’t pretty.
Where to find them
By day he works his stall in the market near the city entrance. Off duty, he keeps to himself in the Silver-Blood Inn, where he paid extra for the biggest room so he has space to stretch his arms.
Quests
He is standing right there when The Forsworn Conspiracy kicks off: Weylin is chatting with him moments before he draws his dagger in the market. Afterwards Hogni calls Weylin a Forsworn sympathiser and, like Kerah, shuts his stall for the day.
In The Taste of Death, Hogni turns up at Eola‘s feast as a member of the Coven of Namira. He jokes that his stall’s famous bloody beef might not all be beef, but you can’t actually buy anything unusual from him. Back in town, he’ll tell you to keep quiet about the dinner.
Services
He sells food from his stall. Ask where his meat comes from and he’ll mark the Orc stronghold of Dushnikh Yal on your map. He likes to advertise mutton, but never actually has any.
Personality & relationships
Hogni is convinced everyone is trying to cheat him. He trades insults with the beggar Degaine, and Hroki thinks he’s the most disgusting merchant she has ever seen. He dislikes both sides of the Civil War, since in his view they all want everything for free. Like many local Nords, he has no time for the Forsworn either.
Good to know
If he and the other cannibals are killed, his stall stays empty. No replacement merchant ever takes it over.
