Pantea Ateia is the Imperial Master Vocalist at the Bards College in Solitude, and she wants you to remember her name, because she’s sure everyone will be saying it one day. She has performed for the late High King Torygg at the Blue Palace many times and was touring the courts of Skyrim until the civil war made the roads too dangerous.
Where to find them
She’s usually at the Bards College, where she teaches a morning class with Inge Six Fingers. She also visits The Winking Skeever, where she takes over the stage from Lisette while she’s there.
Quests
Pantea’s Flute: one of her students, Larina, stole Pantea’s flute – an heirloom passed down for seventeen generations – and sold it to a necromancer, apparently after spinning a tale about it making the dead dance. Pantea has received a ransom note and wants you to get it back. The flute is at a random location, and you can stumble on it even without the quest. She has no money to give you, but she does share a few tricks of the trade.
Bound Until Death: Pantea sings at Vittoria Vici‘s wedding reception, warming up with a few scales in case a ballad is called for. When the bride is killed, she panics and screams for help.
Personality & relationships
Pantea is vain, theatrical and not exactly a warm teacher. She claims to be the most talented bard in Skyrim and says most of her students waste her time. Her one favourite is Aia Arria, while she has little patience for Illdi. Viarmo gently reminds her to stop playing favourites, and she dutifully answers “Yes, Headmaster.” She also quizzes students like Jorn about their voice exercises.
Good to know
After you’ve done her quest, you’ll get a letter of inheritance if Pantea dies.
